One of the fashion world's great simplicities, the Italian shirt shop, inspired the conception of Lugo Tailored Menswear. Consummate fans of classic Italian style rather than the flashy Milanese fashions exported around the world, we ventured throughout Italy, from camiceria to camiceria discussing dress shirts production and tailoring. A constant point of conversation was that the every day Roman was as well dressed as the high profile banker. How could this be? What is it about Italian style or the Italian way of life that allows this curiosity? The answer lay in the camiceria. We were shocked to find out that on the Western side of the pond, even in our home, New York City, the fashion and finance capital of the world, one just can’t find a classic, well tailored Italian shirt. How could there not be any camicerias? From these questions our vision of Lugo was formed, to adapt the camiceria to the virtual style landscape and offer our peers our Lugo shirt, natural yet elegant, youthful yet classic, and confident yet conservative, all of the beautiful ironic contradictions of Italian style and La Dolce Vita.
